Rainforest Alliance

The Rainforest Alliance is a world leading non-profit organization working to transform practices in benefit of a sustainable world. It works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. The Rainforest Alliance makes major efforts in two big areas: sustainable agriculture and sustainable tourism. They have been able to certify millions of hectares all over the world in sustainable agriculture practices.

Rainforest Alliance also promotes a verification tool in sustainable practices for the tourism industry, helping touristic companies such as Top Travel Costa Rica improve their sustainable practices. Paniamor Foundation

The Paniamor Foundation is a non-profit private organization that champions the rights of children and youth under the age of 18 in Costa Rica. They work to protect youth from family violence, school violence and community violence, while promoting values and knowledge to empower new generations to defend their rights. Founded in 1987 and declared an important social organization by the Costa Rican government in 1989, Paniamor promotes the development of national strategies against violence in society.

A particularly important program conducted by the Paniamor Foundation is the Paniamor Code – an agreement made with local responsible tourism companies to fight against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in Travel & Tourism. The program has accomplished improving restrictions, uniting efforts against this horrible activity and defending the rights of children in Costa Rica. As a non-profit organization, Paniamor projects are implemented through funds obtained from international organizations, the private sector and any other donations. Pro Parques Foundation

The Pro Parques Foundation is a non-profit organization, composed of academics, conservationists and business people who share a commitment to strengthening the Costa Rican National Parks System and its future sustainability. Created in 2006, the Pro Parques Foundation (Pro Parks Foundation) implements practical solutions in the national parks, contributing to sustainable tourism practices that will allow future generations to enjoy the Costa Rican National Park System just as you do. It dedicates itself to developing the professionalization of human resources in the Protected Wildlife Areas and improving visitors’ experiences by enhancing facilities in the National Parks System. Pro Parques is a non-profit organization with a mission worth supporting.
