Top Travel Costa Rica will design a custom-made itinerary upon request, according to the client’s interests, the time of year, length of stay and availability of accommodations. Once the client approves the final itinerary, we will make all formal reservations to guarantee the approved final itinerary. Top Travel Costa Rica will reserve the right to modify or change part of or the whole itinerary due to safety reasons or circumstances out of our control. Any service (hotels, tours, vacation packages, car rental, private transfers, shuttle services, domestic flights, and any other travel service provided) descriptions, rates, availability, required ages, operation days, minimum persons required, and other service details are subject to change without previous notice due to season, pick up place, weather conditions, personalized changes, information not up to date, changes in service operator policies, etc. Restrictions may apply according to availability, age, minimum persons required, health and physical condition, and other reasons. We will try our best to keep all information always up to date in order to make the reservation process easier.
Once the final itinerary is approved, Top Travel Costa Rica will send payment dates, from when the guarantee deposit is due to the final payment. Certain properties may require additional deposits to guarantee space, especially during the high season. Guarantee deposits and balance payments will change depending on the properties and services booked. In the event of a reservation received less than 45 days prior to the arrival date, full payment must be effected as soon as we confirm the final itinerary.If a client delays on completing any mandatory pre-payment, Top Travel Costa Rica will not be held responsible for any automatic cancellation of services.
Cancellations must be received in writing a minimum of 45 days prior to arrival. A service charge of $200.00 will be applied, in addition to any hotel guarantee or services already prepaid. If a client cancels after making the final balance payment, a portion may be refundable according to the following conditions:
- For cancellations received 44 to 30 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total amount, minus any additional charge from the properties and services involved in the final itinerary.
- For cancellations received 29 to 15 days prior to arrival, 25% of the total amount, minus any additional charge from the properties and services involved in the final itinerary.
- If cancellations are made 14 days to 1 day prior to arrival, no refunds apply.
Any additional expenses, if any, must be borne by the client(s). Once the tour departs, no refund can be made for any feature of the itinerary not used by the client(s) during the course of the tour. We recommend that clients purchase a trip cancellation insurance policy. Top Travel Costa Rica reserves the right to change our cancellation policies according to each customized itinerary; if so, we will indicate in writing the policies that apply.
Top Travel Costa Rica is an intermediary between the client and the companies which provide the services in the itineraries, such as hotels, transportation companies, restaurants, local airlines, among others. If any supplier of Top Travel Costa Rica cancels any part of a trip at any time, or if a service is not provided for any reason beyond the control of Top Travel Costa Rica after payment has been made, Top Travel Costa Rica is not responsible, nor will any refund be given unless payment can be recovered from the supplier. If any cancellation occurs or a service is not provided because of the fault of Top Travel Costa Rica, a refund pertaining to that portion of the trip will be provided. Top Travel Costa Rica acts as the agent for the client in regard to travel, whether by road, railroad, boat, airplane, helicopter, horse or any other means of transportation, and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, irregularity, etc. which may occur by any reason beyond its control. Top Travel Costa Rica will not refund clients, who by their own decision/responsibility or negligence, decide not to use some or any of the services included in their program; and, if this modification(s) implicates any extra fee, the client(s) must cover it. We reserve our right to modify the original itinerary due to circumstances out of our control, as well as exclude a participant whose behavior is an inconvenience to the development of the itinerary, without compensation or refund. Top Travel Costa Rica will not accept any responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to the delay or changes in air schedules, theft, loss of (or damage to) baggage or any article belonging to the clients, sickness, personal health, injuries, death, weather conditions, strikes, fires, explosions, earthquakes, floods, epidemics, conditions of trails, river levels, road conditions, transportation delays, wars, accidents, chance or acts of God, force majeure or any other causes. All such losses or expenses must be borne by the client(s); tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated in the itinerary.Many activities could be physically challenging, so every client must check the level of difficulty rating; it is the client’s responsibility to judge the appropriateness of these travel activities according to his/her physical capabilities and realize that Top Travel Costa Rica has no responsibility. Top Travel Costa Rica recommends that all clients be covered by appropriate life, accident and medical insurance, and that they are financially responsible for such expenses. Regarding car rental and self-driving tour packages, Top Travel Costa Rica requires that clients obtain liability and collision insurance that will cover them in Costa Rica. The car rental companies that we work with offer different insurance coverage at their offices. We recommend that all clients insure their personal property from loss and theft; Top Travel Costa Rica is not responsible for any costs or losses resulting from such events.
The payment of the required deposit or any partial or full payment for a reservation of a vacation, hotel, tour, transportation service, meal, and/or any other travel services requested shall constitute the understanding and consent of these Terms and Conditions.
